Shiva granted challenged Andhakasura to battle, according to which a fierce battle ensued between the two, and at that time a drop of sweat fell on the earth from the forehead of Lord Shiva while fighting, causing red limbs like embers and Bhumiputra was born. This same son of Shiva came to be called by the names of Mangal. Then the Shiva son was revered among the planets by Brahmins with these names.
